Mother Alive

Six inch heels replaced by baby bibs

Moonlit walks replaced with baby talk

Cabaret parties filled with waltzes to the potty

Days spent carefree turn to

Nights in pediatric emergency

A model like figure in a form fitting dress

Has now poured milk from a mothers breast

Sustaining a life that needed nourishment

Looking back over twelve short years

Wondering where the time has went

In her womb she carried her greatest prize

Being your mother now her biggest delight

Her closets once filled with clothes

The floors filled with shoes

No longer seem to matter since she’s birthed you

Her darling baby, loving child, joy and pride

You enrich her world with love

Thanks to you she feels alive.
